Looking to add a game room to your home? Or maybe just building out the man cave in the basement? Well, if you’re trying to budget for the cost of a new foosball table for your home game table needs, then let us help you out.
Just The Table
The good news is that if you already have the perfect space picked out for your new foosball table, then you will be able to find one that fits just about any budget. And honestly, you can find one that will fit into almost any size space that you have available, so don’t fret if you live in a small apartment, condo, townhouse, or house.
You can find foosball tables in the price range of under $200 to over $2,000 - and yes, you can get a better deal if you shop for used tables on your local Craigslist or other secondhand app or site.
The most important thing to know here is that you get what you pay for, and the more you can spend, then the better quality gaming table you’re going to end up with. You should expect to spend between $600 and $900 for a decent quality table that will last your family for years to come.
But, you can go cheaper than that and end up with something pretty decent from a few of the top brands.
Most of the cheaper tables that are of decent quality are going to be your smaller sized options - so not really the full size models. KICK makes a few decent models in the under $500 range.
If you’re shopping for a table that will be used by kids or teens, then you can go even cheaper with it. Just know that anything under $400 likely won’t last all that long, but you should get your money’s worth out of it.
And if you’re looking for a table that is high quality for the more seasoned foosball player, then you’re looking at a cost of at least $1,000. I’m talking about something like the Tornado Sport model, which has a price around $1,100 brand new.
If you really want one of the higher quality (and more expensive) models, then you might want to check some of your local furniture stores and sporting goods stores to see if they offer a store credit card with a low financing option. This is a great way to purchase one of those tables that’s technically out of your price range, but you an afford it when you’re making small payments at 0% interest over time.
For example, my local furniture store chain offers 18 months 0% financing, which would get me a sweet new table for the home game room.
The Home Game Room
If you’re looking to build out an entire new home game room or a new man cave, then you’ll likely need a much bigger budget.
Game rooms often include more than just a foosball table - you might want to include a home bar area, some movie theater style seating, or even some arcade games. Heck, you might even need to build an addition onto your home to have room for this dream space.
The cost of something like this can run from a few thousand to over $10,000 and it really just depends on your wants and needs.
And financing that new home game room will require more than a 0% financing offer at the local furniture store. If you own the home, then you might be able to use a home equity line of credit to finance the new game room addition.
And if you don’t have any equity built up in the home, then you still have a few other options. Did you ever buy life insurance online or through a local broker for yourself? If so, you might be able to borrow against that to fund the new home game room area. Do you have any credit cards with a low interest rate, or a low introductory interest rate? If so, you can use one of those to fund the cost of your awesome new gaming space.
Just be mindful of your total budget so that you don’t over-extend yourself and go deep into debt for a little game table fun. And remember that if you can buy some used game tables, then you will drastically lower your overall costs (and you might end up with higher quality tables!).
